Bikeability - Year 6
Dear Parents,
Our Year 6 children have the opportunity to take part in the Level 1 and 2 Combined Bikeability programme later this month - Monday 20th - Tuesday 21st January.
Level 1 and Level 2 are offered to Year 6 primary pupils as a combined course. This takes place over 2 days, with a minimum of 10 hours training.
At Level 1 riders learn to control and master their bikes in a space away from traffic such as a playground or closed car park, preparing them to ride on traffic-free routes.
Level 2 takes place on local streets, giving trainees a real cycling experience. Trainees learn how to deal with traffic on short journeys such as cycling to school or the local shops.
All trainees receive a certificate and badge on completion of training.
All Bikeability Instructors working for Wiltshire Council are qualified to National Standards, fully insured and subject to DBS clearance.
Bikeability training is almost fully subsidised by grant funding from the Department for Transport, with a small additional charge to parents (£6.34 per pupil).
This year, Bikeability has gone digital, so if you would like your child to take part, please use the link or QR code below.

I would be grateful if you could complete the consent form as soon as possible. A payment item of £6.34 is now available on School Gateway.
